Nova Scotia man dies 2 days after being discharged, daughter says quality of care to blame

From Global News.

Erika Snelgrove is mourning her 59-year-old father, after he died from septic shock in December, two days after being sent home from the Dartmouth General Hospital.

"Ruling out infection…that’s something that should have happened," Snelgrove said.

Their initial visit on Dec. 5 was over her father’s severe back pain and fever, and they were discharged after eight hours, despite not seeing a doctor.

As Mitchell Bailey reports, she says that if more testing had been done, the outcome could have been different.
