North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party re-elected leader Kim Jong Un as general secretary on the fourth day of its party congress meetings. The Kim family has maintained near‑total control of North Korea since its founding after World War Two and experts say that fear of being seen as anti‑revolutionary drives strong displays of loyalty to the leader.
