Protesters dressed as frogs gathered in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.

Taking part in the “State of the Swamp” event, which sought to act as a live rebuttal to Trump’s address, amphibians joined a chorus of celebrities voicing opposition to the Trump administration and the state of politics in the United States.

“What we want from this is to show the absurdity of the fascist Trump regime, by bringing peace, joy, happiness and humour, contrasting that with the violence of ICE agents on the streets of the United States of America,” Chelsea Gods, an activist who travelled from California said, “this is the absurd protest, countering that, showing our humanity and our kindness.”
