From DW News.
A German artist is accused of defaming the Russian state by creating satirical carnival figures depicting President Vladimir Putin. Jacques Tilly is being tried in absentia in Russia and could, in theory, face up to 10 years in prison. As long as he remains in Germany, he is beyond the reach of the Russian courts. However, he could run into trouble if he decided to travel to Russia or to countries that have an extradition agreement with Moscow.
