Emil Michael, the U.S. under secretary of defense for research and engineering, said the government has "made some very good concessions" in its offer to Anthropic to use its AI model Claude. The Pentagon gave Anthropic a 5:01 p.m. deadline to allow the U.S. military to use Claude for "all lawful purposes" or face consequences.
