Nova Scotia says it has concluded an “extensive” workplace safety investigation into the death of a Halifax Walmart worker who died 16 months ago and found no safety violations.

The body of 19-year-old Gursiman Kaur was found in October 2024 inside a walk-in oven.

In a Friday release, the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration said that investigators determined the oven was in “proper working order at the time of the incident” and that no safety violations had been identified.

This latest development comes more than a year after a police investigation concluded her death was not suspicious.
