In the aftermath of Saturday’s U.S.-Israel airstrikes, the future of Iran’s leadership remains unclear.
Over 40 Iranian officials were reportedly killed in the onslaught, including some of Khamenei’s top brass.
With a regime change the top priority for both the U.S. and Israeli governments, more retaliatory attacks from Iran are expected as it clings to power.
As Candice Cole explains, some experts believe the days of the regime ended with Saturday’s attacks, paving the way for a democratic government. But before that can happen, some expect a second revolution that will bring about more bloodshed following the brutal crackdowns on protesters last month.
