House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters after a "Gang of Eight" briefing on the United States’ war with Iran that the American attacks on Feb. 28 were "defensive in nature." Sen. Mark Warner disagreed, however, saying "there was no imminent threat to the United States of America by the Iranians."
