U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to cut off all trade with Spain after their prime minister said the U.S. military would not be able to use the country’s military bases for strikes linked to the war on Iran.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez condemned the U.S. and Israeli strikes Monday as an “unjustified" and “dangerous military intervention.” He said Spain would not authorize the use of the bases, which the U.S. military operates under a joint-use arrangement, for that purpose.

Trump suggested the U.S. could still use the bases despite Spain’s objection, saying, “nobody’s going to tell us not to use it,” and added that he “doesn’t want anything to do” with them.
