“We left the cities, and we suffered a lot”: Thousands displaced after Israeli strikes in Lebanon

From Global News.

Thousands of Lebanese civilians were displaced Tuesday after Israel ramped up their attacks against Hezbollah, as the conflict with Iran widens. At least 30,000 displaced people have sought protection in shelters across Lebanon.

“After we heard the enemy’s (referring to Israel) media, they were on social media saying we had to leave the cities (towns). We left the cities, and we suffered a lot." One displaced man said.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “The Lebanese government needs to understand, and the people of Lebanon need to understand, that Hezbollah is dragging them into a war that is not theirs.”

At least 40 people have been killed and 246 wounded in Israeli attacks on Lebanon on Monday and Tuesday, a spokesperson for Lebanon’s health ministry said.
