White House speaks to reporters as US intensifies bombardment of Iran | LIVE

From Global News.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is set to speak to reporters on Wednesday as the United States intensifies its bombardment of Iran’s security forces and other symbols of power.

Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth confirmed Wednesday that a U.S. submarine had sunk an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean. He said the U.S. is quickly gaining "air superiority" over Iran but admitted it can’t stop all air attacks.

Hegseth also signalled a longer timeframe for the war in Iran, saying it could last up to eight weeks depending on military progress. President Donald Trump said earlier in the week the war could last four to five weeks but that he was "prepared to go longer than that" if necessary.

As the war expands further, Tehran has warned of the destruction of the Middle East’s military and economic infrastructure.
