Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand, along with Government of Canada officials, will hold a press conference on Canada’s response to the U.S.-Iran war in the Middle East.

The briefing comes after the U.S. and Israel launched a series of strikes against Iran starting Saturday. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has reportedly been killed in the first wave of attacks, plunging the region into conflict as Iran retaliates against neighbouring countries with U.S. military bases.

As of March 3, 2026, there are over 103,800 Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents registered as being in the Middle East.
