From Global News.
Ahead of his band Mammoth’s second-ever headlining North American tour, Wolfgang Van Halen – the multi-instrumentalist virtuoso and frontman-songwriter-extraordinaire – sat down with Global News reporter Adam Wallis to talk about his explosive third album, ‘The End’, and all things music-related.
While many veteran rock fans may know Wolf as the bassist of Van Halen between 2006 and 2015 – where he played alongside his late father, the beloved Eddie Van Halen, and uncle Alex Van Halen – here, he expresses how he’s a lot more than just that.
“There [are] constantly people learning that I’m not just a bass player. I think a lot of people just kind of view me as the kid that was in Van Halen that they hate,” Wolf joked.
Though he has an incredible touring band, Wolf goes as far as playing every instrument for Mammoth in the studio. A mind-blowing feat, if you listen to any of his three records.
Before joining forces with the likes of Bush, Megadeth and Iron Maiden later this year, Mammoth returns to the Great White North, for a string of shows in Ontario and Quebec – the latter of which Wolf recalled a particularly memorable gig.
