From Global News.
Some parents in Quebec say new secularism rules are preventing them from volunteering at their children’s schools.
Brossard resident Sabaah Khan says she was told she can no longer help at Riverside School Board events because she wears a hijab.
Quebec’s government says parents are still welcome to get involved, but only if they do not wear religious symbols. Khan says the decision has been difficult for families, adding, “I’m from here and my kids are from here.
And I’m being told that like my free time is not good enough.” Dan Spector reports.
