President Trump told Reuters the United States must be involved in choosing the next leader of Iran and that it would be "wonderful" if Iranian Kurdish forces based in Iraq were to cross into Iran to launch attacks on security forces there.

He also said he isn’t concerned about rising U.S. gas prices driven by the conflict, adding that the U.S. military operation was his priority.
