More Canadians return home from Middle East, but over 100,000 still remain in volatile region

More than 200 Canadians have left the Middle East today, after the federal government secured seats on chartered and commercial flights for citizens wanting to leave the region.

At Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, there were emotional reunions as around 50 Canadians were welcomed home from Dubai.

But there are more than 100,000 Canadians currently registered in the Middle East.
