Iran war: Now the biggest oil disruption in history

From CNN.

A historic disruption to the world’s oil production sent crude prices smashing through the $100 barrier Monday for the first time since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

US gas prices have now increased nearly 50 cents, or about 17%, just since the start of the war in Iran. The average US price for a gallon of regular has increased to $3.48, according to AAA.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s national oil company declared force majeure as the war continues to threaten energy sites, and G7 finance ministers are meeting today to discuss the potential joint release of strategic reserves.
