Fireflies are great spectacles on land – they’re using something called bioluminescence to glow!

It’s super rare…to us terrestrial animals at least, because if you dive into the ocean you’ll find a very different story. It turns out the ability to glow is one of the most common evolutionary traits on our planet, but humans rarely encounter it.
