He saw friends killed in cold blood. After posting an international online cry for help, police came looking for him. He then walked for eight days to escape Iran’s brutal regime. Now he plans to return to fight.

The West Block’s Jeff Semple sits down with Ali Rezaei Madj, who found sanctuary in Erbil, Iraq, just across the border from his beloved home country.

He tells us about his escape from Iran after his video went viral, amassing more than nine million views overnight.

Maji reveals “seven or eight men” came looking for him, each showing his picture to locals during their search.

“It’s not just about arresting, [or] going to prison, or execution, sometimes they rape people. Sometimes they arrest other family members," Maji said.
