Heading into the third week of the conflict with Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump says there’s practically nothing left to target and that the war will end “soon.” But how realistic is that?

Trump said this week “For (Iran), it’s a war. For us, it has turned out to be easier than we thought. I would say, to put it mildly, way ahead of schedule.”

Carleton University Professor Brian Schmidt — who is an American — joins
The West Block’s Jeff Semple and says he believes the “ultimate goal of this war is regime change, that you really can’t fulfill (U.S.) objectives (stopping nuclear enrichment, dismantling ballistic missile program, stopping support of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis) unless the regime is fundamentally changed.”
