I Made 10,000 of These in the ’70s. I’ll Show YOU How.

From Kitchen in the Shire.

From ’76 to ’80, I worked at McDonald’s and made over 10,000 breakfast sandwiches. After that many mornings, you learn that the secret isn’t fancy ingredients—it’s technique. Heat zones, timing, and a few small tools keep the bacon crisp, the eggs tender, and everything ready at the same time.
Homemade breakfast sandwiches are one of my forever favorites. It is the kind of breakfast I happily make when I want something hot, melty, and truly satisfying. If you have ever made a breakfast sandwich at home and thought it tasted fine but "not quite right," this episode fixes that with simple, repeatable griddle technique.
This video is also the sequel to my homemade English muffins recipe. Once you can make the muffins, this is exactly what to do with them.

This channel isn’t just my kitchen, it’s ours.
Every so often, I like to feature one of your tried-and-true recipes, the ones with a little history behind them.
If you have a family classic you’d like to pass along… I’d love to read it, and it may be featured in a future video.
