Why Oscar nominated actor from Gaza couldn’t attend award show

From CNN.

Motaz Malhees, the lead actor in the Oscar nominated film, “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” says he was unable to attend the ceremony due to a Trump Administration enforced travel ban restricting entry for individuals who have Palestinian Authority-issued documents. The film was nominated for best international feature film and is based on the true story of a five-year-old Palestinian girl named Hind Rajab who was killed by Israeli forces in January, 2024.
