US strategy in Iran: Fareed’s ‘imperial trap’; Bolton on Trump

From CNN.

Donald Trump’s brief and aggressive attempt to corral an international coalition to police the Strait of Hormuz concluded in disappointment on Tuesday, leading the president to lash out at European nations that rejected his demands to help with his war against Iran. “We don’t need too much help,” a frustrated Trump said in the Oval Office, where he was hosting Ireland’s taoiseach for St. Patrick’s Day. “We don’t need any help actually.”

The U.S. is succumbing to some of the same imperial temptations with Iran that Britain did with its missions in Asia in the 20th century says CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, who joins Anderson Cooper to discuss his recent op-ed. Former Trump National Security adviser John Bolton also weighs in, claiming Trump was aware of potential ramifications in choosing to strike Iran.
