After more than 15 years, Toronto’s Eglinton Crosstown LRT finally reopens

It’s a day many in Toronto thought would never come: the opening of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

The first phase of the long-awaited light rail line, which was marred by budget overruns and construction delays, officially launched on Sunday, six years behind schedule and 15 years after construction began.

Many have expressed frustration with the length of the project and the impact on many businesses, with some calling for a public inquiry. But as Lexy Benedict reports, many today were just excited to take the new line for a spin.
