Staffing shortages at air traffic control facilities continued to cause pain for travellers at airports across the U.S. on Friday as the government shutdown neared the one-month mark.
Airports in Boston, Nashville and New York City experienced delays averaging two hours or longer. Meanwhile, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is warning it’s only going to get worse.
Air traffic controllers and security agents have been working without pay and some can no longer afford to show up to work. And as Jackson Proskow reports, there’s no sign the shutdown will end any time soon.
