From USA TODAY.
Aliya Rahman, a disabled U.S. citizen who was forcibly pulled out of her car while on her way to an appointment at a traumatic brain injury center in Minnesota in January, delivered testimony describing the incident in her own words before Congress.
Rahman said ICE agents gave her conflicting instructions before opening her door, cutting her seatbelt and pulling her to the ground. She said she woke up in an hospital emergency room to be treated for assault.
The South Minneapolis resident was one of several individuals who gave accounts on interactions with ICE, including the brothers of Renee Good, who was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minnesota days before Rahman’s detainment.
