It was a wet and wild night on the South Coast, with wind battering homes, toppling trees, and leaving thousands of people without power on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and the Sunshine Coast.

As of Monday afternoon, there were approximately 50 properties under evacuation order and about 1,200 under evacuation alert across the South Coast.
