An accused Walmart shoplifter was sitting on a bench with his female companion, who was also accused of shoplifting, when suddenly, the man grabbed a gun. The Walmart manager wrestled the weapon out of his hands as the police officer joined in. The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Shane Newman. He already has an active warrant out for his arrest. Police say Newman’s gun jammed, but the suspect’s family says the shooting might have been an attempt at suicide by cop.
