Canada avoids recession in 3rd quarter with a rise in GDP

Canada’s economy showed unexpected signs of strength in 2025’s third quarter.

According to Statistics Canada, GDP rose at a pace of 2.6 percent – helping the country avoid a technical recession.

However, as Global’s Anne Gaviola reports, economists say the outlook remains fragile.
