Canada deal on Chinese EVs shows trade “trumped national security”: experts

More Chinese-made electric vehicles are set to hit the market in Canada after Prime Minister Mark Carney struck a deal with Beijing.

In exchange for reducing tariffs, Canada will allow nearly 50,000 Chinese-made EVs into the country.

But security experts are already sounding the alarm, warning the vehicles could pose a national security threat.
