Canada to invest $200M in new spaceport in Nova Scotia

From Global News.

The Canadian government announced Monday it will put $200 million toward a Canadian-owned launch pad to send satellites into space.

Canada currently has no sovereign launch capability, which means Canadian companies must rely on the U.S. government to send our satellites into orbit.

But the cash injection comes as the Carney government is cutting funds for other space programs.

Global’s David Akin reports on the announcement and how it fits into the government’s defence strategy.
