Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said on Tuesday that she has asked Oman for the use of its airspace "if necessary for Canadian citizens to get out" of the Middle East.
 
Anand said the government’s "top priority" during the escalating U.S.-Iran war is safety for the "100,000 Canadians in the region," and added that she asked her Omani counterpart for Canada to use the airspace of that country.
