More than 26,000 Canadians in Mexico are registered with Global Affairs Canada, including 8,000 in the last day since violence erupted over the death of a cartel leader. Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says she expects the situation in the country to ‘normalize’ over the next few days.
