In a bid to diversify Canada’s trade relations and become less dependent on the United States amid the ongoing trade war, Prime Minister Mark Carney is off on another 10-day trip abroad. His first stop is India, where he arrived on Friday morning.
After a difficult period between the two nations, this trip is being touted as a diplomatic reset.
Global’s Miranda Anthistle spoke with the Vice-President of Research and Strategy at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Vina Nadjibulla on why Carney is looking to rekindle relationships with one of the world’s fastest economies and the fragility of this reset between the two countries.
