Carney meets with Coastal First Nations in BC to discuss energy projects

From Global News.

Prime Minister Mark Carney met with Coastal First Nations in Prince Rupert, B.C., on Tuesday. Carney and the First Nations said the meeting was productive, however the First Nations reiterated that there is no support for a pipeline or a lifting of the tanker moratorium on the north coast.

Carney continues to stress that First Nations support is critical for any project moving forward, “it’s an important time for our country. It’s a decisive moment for Canada and I’m very focused on not just building, but how we build, and how we build together.”

Aaron McArthur has the details.
