Prime Minister Mark Carney was in Beijing, China Wednesday on a two-day high-stakes mission to reset Canada’s ties with its second-highest trading partner, as pressure grows to find alternatives to the United States.

It has been over seven years since a Canadian prime minister has visited China’s capital.
