Prime Minister Mark Carney has arrived in the Persian Gulf state of Qatar, the day after concluding a deal with China on canola and electric vehicles.

As Carney continues to pursue new trade deals in Qatar and next week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, our chief political correspondent, David Akin reports that U.S. President Donald Trump has invited Carney to join his Board of Peace — the multinational institution charged with overseeing the reconstruction of Gaza — and Carney has accepted.
