From Global News.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to deliver remarks at the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, Switzerland on Tuesday.
The Canadian leader is expected to speak about global unrest and describe what he’s calling the "new world order." This amid a global economic shift triggered by U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs on most nations and unpredictable trade policies.
Though the WEF is typically aimed at promoting trade and commerce around the globe, it is anticipated to be overshadowed by the global unrest triggered by Trump’s escalating threats to acquire Greenland.
Most recently, Trump threatened further sweeping tariffs on European allies to pressure Denmark into negotiations over Greenland. Carney said he was "concerned about this escalation" during a two-day trip to Qatar on Sunday.
