During his State of the Union, President Trump claimed he inherited “inflation at record levels” and that inflation is now “plummeting.” Morning Joe’s Chief Economic Analyst, Steve Rattner, pushed back, calling that narrative “completely absurd,” noting inflation was already below 3% when Trump took office, and by the Fed’s preferred measure, it has ticked up this year.
