With just over two weeks to go before the start of the Olympic Winter Games 2026, Cortina d’Ampezzo is in the final phase of preparations to co-host the Games. "The opinions are obviously divided," said environmentalist Silverio Lacedelli, noting residents were told "95% of the structures existed already" when nearly all had to be built. Others welcome the economic boost and global exposure the Olympics are expected to bring.
