From Global News.
A Winnipeg couple says changes to economy-class seating on WestJet flights left them facing extra costs and a pile of medical paperwork just to fit comfortably in their seats.
WestJet is facing a fierce backlash from its customers after bringing in reduced legroom on some of its flights—a change WestJet said would maintain safety and accommodation while offering more affordable options.
But Jeremy Dias says those assurances fell short when he and his partner, who is 6 ft. 5 inches, booked a holiday flight from Winnipeg to Toronto.
After contacting WestJet, the couple sought a note from their doctor attesting to Dias’s partner’s height, but the airline informed them that they had to obtain a 12-page form filled out by their doctor instead. Hersh Singh has the story.
