Italy hosts the world’s top Paralympic athletes in March 2026, but just getting across the street in Rome can feel like an Olympian task for wheelchair users. Cobbled surfaces and high curbs make navigating the Italian capital a challenge for disabled residents, and while the Italian government has invested in making the Milan-Cortina Games more accessible for wheelchair users, Rome has not received the same funding.
