Morning broke in Central Gaza on October 2, as displaced Palestinians gathered in rows of makeshift tents along the beach and roadside. The Israeli military issued new orders on October 1 for people to leave for the south and said it would no longer allow those to return to the north, as Gaza City came under heavy bombing.
