Record number of oil lamps lit in India’s holy city of Ayodhya as part of Diwali celebrations. Thousands of volunteers lit 2.6 million oil lamps, called diyas, along the Saryu river’s banks. Diwali is the most important festival of the year in India, particularly for the Hindu majority.
