Doug Ford may have to hand over his personal phone, Ontario court rules

From Global News.

After years of trying to keep his personal phone logs a secret, an Ontario court ruled Monday that Premier Doug Ford would have to hand over his personal phone records.

The ruling is part of a transparency battle by Global News, seeking access to government-related calls made from Ford’s personal phone.

Initially, the government denied the request and Global News appealed the decision to the Information and Privacy commission – which ruled that the premier’s private logs are part of the public record.

The premier has already vowed to appeal that decision. Queen Park Bureau Chief Colin D’Mello has the story.
