If you’re planning Japan travel and wondering what to eat in Tokyo, this spot belongs on your Tokyo guide.Today’s Tokyo on Ten location is Katsudon wa Hito wo Shiawase ni Suru (カツ丼は人を幸せにする), which translates to “Katsudon makes people happy.” It is Japan’s Katsudon Grand Prix Champion four years running, and surprisingly it has not gone internationally viral yet. For anyone into Japanese food, pork cutlet bowls, and classic Japanese cuisine, this is a must visit. Their pork cutlet rice bowl is made differently from most katsudon in Japan. Instead of simmering the pork cutlet with egg before placing it over rice, they cook them separately. This keeps the panko crust crispy while the egg stays soft and creamy, making every bite balanced until the very end. They even use a special “half bath” frying method to ensure the fatty side of the pork cutlet Japanese style cooks evenly.
