From CBC News.
In 2019, during a routine haul, Joey Angnatok, an Inuk fisherman from Nain pulled up something unexpected on his line — a branching piece of deep sea coral. Angnatok helped researchers locate a deep-sea coral garden, over 400 metres deep, in 2021 off the coast of Makkovik. This past August, marine scientist and filmmaker Zachary MacMillan joined a research expedition, as scientists studied the coral walls in more detail. In this piece for CBC Creator Network, MacMillan takes us along for the journey.
