Residents in the English seaside village of Thorpeness are fearing for the future of their homes, with almost a dozen houses overlooking the sea demolished since October due to coastal erosion.
With some human-made coastal defences reaching the end of their design life and sea levels rising, the government and coastal experts have warned that the tide cannot be held back everywhere.
Instead, experts say adaptation projects are needed to help communities move away from the coastline.
