Floods in France: small town near Garonne River remains flooded | AFP

Streets are flooded in the town of Cadillac near Bordeaux (Gironde deparment, western France) following the overflowing of the Garonne River. Météo-France has extended its flood warnings until Tuesday, 17 February, with the Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne departments remaining on red alert, as the institute fears a resurgence of flooding due to further rainfall forecast for Monday, 16 February. The flood alert system in France has been working at a record pace as relentless rain over the past month has saturated soils.
