The United States and Israel’s joint attacks on Iran have set off retaliatory missile strikes across the region, despite marathon negotiation sessions this week. Robert Malley, who served as Special Envoy to Iran from 2021 to 2023 and was a lead negotiator on the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal under President Obama, and Michael Froman, President of the Council on Foreign Relations, join The Weekend: Primetime to discuss why diplomacy failed to prevent the joint attacks, the response from the international community and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s longtime push for regime change in Iran.
